There is a shared appreciation for the arts in our community
and a growing awareness that we can enjoy interesting, high-quality cultural
events and activities here in the Peninsula. Our schools, libraries, churches,
and community organizations develop and showcase local talent and host guest
artists and performers from greater San Diego and beyond.
The
Peninsula Arts Calendar provides a central listing for these cultural events
and activities. Published quarterly as a flyer, the calendar is distributed
through schools, libraries, churches, civic associations, restaurants and retail
outlets. We cover a broad range of events band concerts, plays, musical
productions, art exhibits, talent shows, and other activities at Peninsula
venues. Any local cultural event that is open to the public is eligible for
listing. We give listing priority to not-for-profit organizations.
The goals of the Peninsula Arts Calendar are to spotlight local
arts and culture, to encourage artists and performers of all ages, to build
audiences, and to promote arts education in our schools and community.
This publication is a collaborative community service project.
Point Loma Nazarene University donates graphic design services. San Diego Foundation,
in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Ocean Beach, underwrites production
and printing costs. We thank them.
The Peninsula Arts Alliance (PAA) is an informal network linking
local residents who are active supporters of community arts and culture. To
